   One Halloween when Mouse was a baby, I carefully trained her to say “trick or treat” and “grrrr” (she had a tiger costume — wrong aminal, moom). Once out trick-or-treating, she got so excited about all the shoe piles, she yelled, “Shoe on! Shoe on!” (Long, complicated back story I won’t go into.)

   I used to laugh at the shoe piles when the boys would bring their friends over in High School. Some of those shoes were gi-normous!
