You may have been hearing about a strong, rainy weather system that has already nailed Florida, and has been moving north along the east coast. Atlanta is far west, in east coast terms, of that weather alignment, aided by the westward bend of the Georgia bight (geography jargon?), meaning that in this case the worst of the weather avoided us, and we just suffered some moisture and some wind, but, overall, not much and not bad.
