Hours of women with their shoes slipped off

Dark blue wedding bouquet

I don’t think I have been to a wedding with a color theme that was so tastefully deployed, or one with midnight blue (dark blue, anyway) as the color.

More important, however, were the vows—sweet, loving, committed, genuine—and the toasts—sincere, warm, heart-felt—and all with a layer of good-humor and intelligence. Such a pleasure to be witness to the commitment of this couple.

It took me until now to figure out that the chosen shade is the Michigan blue…call me slow. I only saw a football come out once during the festivities, with a quarterback-quality throw by one of the bridesmaids….

I *live* here & I’m not sure I’d’ve gotten the bluuuuuuuue connection either 🙂

So glad you made it, means so much that you made the trip. The colors and Michigan connection? None what-so-ever, its what they liked, but I can understand why some might draw a connection.

Yeah, M, the more I thought about it after I made the post, and after I overheard you and the Color-Guru discussing the shade of dark purple-blue of the bridesmaid’s dresses, I thought, no, it’s not the Michigan color. Plus, of course, no maize—anywhere…which would have been tacky and not at all in keeping with the striking aesthetic of all design elements of the event. We were ever so happy to attend….
