I was totally surprised to discover, sheltered as I am in horticultural matters, that this is in the milkweed family; I knew it as butterfly weed. The pods look like spiky cylindrical okras.

Are the flowers orange? If I’m thinking of the right butterfly weed, they look very much like milkweed flowers, except orange instead of pink. I’ll bet there’s another plant with the common name of butterfly weed.
