Library trends

Library apple maybe

First trend: this tree is laden with blooms, and they smell heavenly. Sorry you’re missing it….

Second trend: older couples each with a small device, using the library’s fast pipe to cruise whatever on their phones/devices. We also see a combo with one laptop and one device. I have not noticed the two-devices phenomena here in the hinterlands before….

I’m not sure if that would be considered progress or no….

How old? I mean, I’m sure people see me using “technology” to connect with the world in a public place and also think I am “old” (even though I don’t feel anywhere near old). Backing off the ledge a bit, I think it is definitely progress that “older” folks are using smart phones and tablets. My mom doggedly tried to keep up with technology and used her iPhone to check the NYT and text me, etc., until c. diff took her down… … …

How old? I’d say late 60s/early 70s. Special people. Also interested that it seems that some older folk find touch screens and the plethora of “good stuff” available via smart phone/tablet interesting enough and easy enough to access if they have the budget to purchase the device…if that makes sense? I think it’s pretty neat for the same reasons that it’s good we have programs to get wifi into hinterland areas where it’s not otherwise easy to get it….
