Cinnamuffins

from The New Laurel’s Kitchen, 1986 edition

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Grease 12-cup muffin tin—use small size cups or only partly fill normal-sized cups.

Mix together:
1/4 cup oil
1/2 cup dark molasses
1 cup applesauce

Sift together (or just mix by hand):
1 1/2 cup whole wheat (pastry) flour
1/2 tsp soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp cinnamon
pinch cloves
1/2 tsp salt

Mix above together adding:
1/2 c raisins

Drop into muffin cups. Bake 18 to 20 minutes.
