Little gem

Pearl in oyster display sushi restaurant

We found this display on the counter next to the cash register in the sushi restaurant we tried for the first time at lunch. Actually, this is just the top part of it. Water enters this reservoir, and drips down into the pools below. But, here, at the top, in the “shell,” there’s a plastic ball spinning in the flowing water that does a credible job of looking like a “pearl.”

Kinda cool to see this bubbly contraption once, but I wouldn’t want to live with one!

Mission accomplished!

Shoe sunlit interior

These are really white shoes—a bit dirty these days. The yellow-green is from sun illuminating the innersoles I added because the Nike ones wore out so fast.

We skipped the library today, and walked to Little Five instead, and checked out the shops in the row with A Capella (cool bookstore!).

The mission: to find these inexpensive nifty eyedrop assist thingies. Which are not so easy to find. Clue: find an independent pharmacy and stay away from the chains.
