These chairs are not Dem/Rep color coded, I’m certain, because the yard had signs for four Dem candidates. Is the emptiness an invitation to the Pres- and VP-elect to have a seat? haha [Don’t think so.]

Yesterday afternoon was sunshine and horn-tooting drivers on all the main streets in this neighborhood, and I assume beyond. Today was a bit overcast and I didn’t hear a single honk. Sunday respect?
I posted a photo perhaps six weeks back with a red Virginia creeper on a tree trunk, so I’m repeating a theme, but, geeze, doesn’t this look foine?!

I’ve been bee-smashed each of the last three days when I was out walking. That is, I think they were bees. My hypothesis is that bees are busy collecting (but not counting), and returning to bee-central—at an increased rate to prepare for winter-cold—and somewhere in that circuit one encounters meeee. It really doesn’t mean much, of course.

I decided to be quietly civic to ameliorate my “razor-thin” stress. I thought I would find it calming to walk around the park and the lake. Pretty day.
I saw this plant and thought I’d try to work in something about a Banana Republic, but I couldn’t come up with anything clever…well, anything. Plus, the other day I read about plants that look (to my eye) just like a banana plant, but produce no bananas. So…look: foliage.

Just watched the clock flip to 7:00pm. Polls are closed…some places…and people are still in line to vote…some places…and will vote. Other states, other time zones, other rules.
And the counting staff are busy. And serious. Thankfully.

We dropped our early ballots off in a secure box at our county library branch…and they were accepted two? three? days later…. So, we THINK we’re in the system. Yay, civic responsibilities!
