Musings

Seasonable

Hard freeze and a time change. Welcome to this March weekend.

Note: seasonable may not seem reasonable.

Attempt from afar

There’s varied symbolism attached to white flowers. On this day I pick bereavement sympathy. I also read that white azaleas represent civility and restraint. That’s a stretch today, but, with great sincerity, I offer them up. 🇺🇦

Great fun

Went out for dinner. Not the way you may be thinking. Out was Athens, and we brought take-out with us to share.

On delay

I picked the photo & prepped it; I figured out what point I wanted to make…and then I faded into sleepiness…so: delayed post.

Such a messy job site; I feel for the neighbors. We had one of these for eight months or so down the block, although it was slightly less messy.

Since our first contract when Tree#1 fell specified even no cigarette butts would be left at day’s end, we realize the homeowner has some control over this.

This bud’s for you

I like the Fibonacci twist of the bud, but, being in a hurry, the petals below and the leaves behind are in focus, not the fetching bud. [Vinca aka periwinkle.]

Common name confusion

I saw these and thought the flowers looked rather like hyacinth blooms, and the effect was rather like bluebells. Came home and poked around on the internet, and it seems that hyacinths and bluebells are closely related, taxonomically—so: ta-dah! Of course, they seem similar. Especially, when strolling by….

Minutia

A lovely viburnum corymb. I read that Ötzi the Chalcolithic Iceman had arrows with shafts of viburnum and dogwood.

Yawn

I can tell that morning is arriving earlier. It is the way of the world.

Mind game

I cannot grasp what the situation of the Russian people—and who else?—would be if VP and the oligarchs had not stolen so much wealth from them.

It is March

Totally grooving on this blue-purple. It’s an optimistic, positive color. March snuck up on me. There’s this gigantic, violent mess in Eastern Europe…🇺🇦☮️. I needed to find and enjoy that gorgeous hyacinth.
