
Sometimes laws hang around long after their applicability fades to nil. Woodward Avenue, in Detroit, has a famous legal vestige of the past, at least as I always heard it: it’s illegal to drive cattle down Woodward. It’s entirely possible that this is a myth, propagated in those little books that people buy to give to people who then put them by the guest toilet.

I’m guessing this looks like shelves of dishes to you. I see more than that; I see the flexing of time, that this stockpile is a combination from at least two houses, and more households.
And now shrouded in newspaper, to avoid (some of) the dust of winter.
