Musings
Overcast this morning without the rain we’ve been having transformed into REAL sunshine in the afternoon. And many people were out raking leaves as they dried enough to do so! Other yards showed the (usually Hispanic) maintenance crews had come by…after many days too rainy to work.
Do I seem elated?

Here’s a newish park that is designed to catch some of the rain and make this puddle to reduce runoff. Impressive.
We’re darned soggy in this town, although I hear the skies may clear (or the rain will back off) tomorrow afternoon (TA). I’m so excited!

Crappy rainy, cold weather…so we went to the mall…to walk (and culture-watch). And see the low-key, tentative decorations, as it turned out. Santa and the elvin photogs already were busy with young knee-perchers.

Been a while since anyone lunched here. I’ve been seeing leaf arrangements on Instagram lately, but this is MaNachur’s version, aided by Mme. Gravity.
Meanwhile, here’s proof the squirrels do not get all the nuts. Feet on the sidewalk mashed some of the pecans under this tree….

We had sun for a while…in the morning and again in the afternoon…with rain in between. This is from sunny-interlude-number-two. KW, it’s a clematis, right?
Just wanna note that the Egyptian burial pyramids are mostly solid, with very little open space inside (chambers and a few passages); not at all likely to be grain silo-pyramids.

I guess when they upgraded the water system in our neighborhood, this fireplug got a new feeder pipe, and kept its top. Love the lichen, mold, and patchy paint.
Hmm. This is a 6s wiggle-picture converted to a GIF (mooooveee). Impressionistic…rain-walking. Had to give it a try; sorry it’s so spazzy. Promise not to offer GIFs very often.

Turns out the Thai basil survives (whew!), and soon I shall make some Thai curry, which is very yumm-i-fied with fresh Tb.

Seems to me that the functions of rest areas have shifted since the early days. Used to be that stretch-your-legs and eat-a-packed-lunch were the big activities when I was a youth. Then, sometimes, make-a-phone-call was added. Now, it’s use-the-restroom and walk-the-dog. Very few diners. Little Frisbee-throwing or baseball-tossing; I haven’t seen a game of tag in decades.
We found leaves on the trees as we drifted south, but the transition to oaks instead of maples means…more bronze and no orange-reds, and so a duller color overall. And temps in the 70s…shed a layer!

Little did I know when I was standing there, but the local pronunciation is…Pom-pee-aye.
