Musings

Architecture is angles.
Well, not only angles, but it seems like it is in this view.
And that’s a broken window…perhaps a spontaneous failure from comments I overheard between a pair of engineering types, standing beneath it.

I walked around the corner to a local shop to do an errand, and today’s gully-washer hit! This was the view out into the back parking lot.
It wasn’t all bad, because I waited in a bookstore!

When I left, it hadn’t totally quit raining, but I had a broad-brimmed sunhat on so I was (largely) covered.

Flipping through streams, I saw an offering: “Murder in…(English Subtitles).” Seemed darned funny to me.
BTW, picture is from March…lotsa woodgrain, like a relatively soft wood…I’m guessing fast-growing pine, perhaps Southern pine.

We endured one of those fast gulley-washers this afternoon; it lasted maybe three minutes, of total deluge.

Apologies for delayed post. I just got too yawn-y too early to have sufficient thought to post before crashing.

Yeah, this is an odd angle to look at a vehicle. Yet, what’s the vehicle tricked out to maximize? Are those rectangular forms antennae or liquid holders? That implement on the roof—it’s not a weed eater, so what is it?
Quick goo-search: Land Rover Defenders start at 73K or 153K, depending on I’m not sure what. But that doesn’t explain the extras….

Universal reason #8 for out-of-focus photo: very hot-and-muggy, so I didn’t hang around to take a proper photograph, and not merely a snap.

Okay, admit it: you smiled (or at least thought about it inside).

Like gardenias and camellias, I was unfamiliar with caladiums when I moved to the deep south. I’ve never grown caladiums, although one time I planted them at the new house of friends.

I mentioned dahlias two days back; here’s one from the R-garden over in Athens. Yup, we took a wee road trip—great fun and many laughs.
