These are from the same shrub as other day’s rain-dropt buds, they’re open, but only maybe 75% across the whole plant. Sometimes the blooming process is…staggered.
Listening to Steve Nicks from last night’s Jimmy F show; sorry—distracted….

These are the unopened azalea buds. A few on this bush are half-open and they got drowned by the rain over the last 24 hours and look distinctly un-perky. For now, the buds look better than the blooms.
I got influenced by the rain—the noise rather than the water. My sleep was stop-and-go matching the weather bands. Overall, I did okay and was relatively rested by morning.

I always think of these as “pinks” (Dianthus), but maybe they’re not.
WikiPee says that Dianthus is from the Greek for god (dios) and flowers (anthos).

Viburnum? Maybe….
Somehow this didn’t feel quite like a Friday. It didn’t quite feel like Fridays felt when I worked inconsistent schedules that might include any day of the week, either. (Thankfully, that was a l-o-o-ong time ago.)
Azaleas are ready to pop. Brace yo-selves.

Saw the first light dusting of pine pollen today. Sneeze (not really).
Love redbud buds/fleurs.

We made a great wander of about two miles across old fields and what counts as forest-like areas in this part of Florida (massively altered by humans several times over). We covered some ground, for a nature walk.
And after that and other footsteps here and there, I checked my Fitbit and it read over 8100 steps—and zero floors*. I climbed a few sets of steps here at the hotel to make sure that it wasn’t broken; nope. It’s just Florida.
* A Fitbit floor registers after about an eight foot ascent.

I’ve been enjoying the fully open hyacinth for several days. Now you can, too!
Sometimes it almost looks like a wax carving.
Here it is when it was in bud.

Yeah, it’s a daffie repeat. This one’s backlit and I’m grooving’ on it.
I figured spring began when my hygienist (love her; LOVE her) finished my teeth today; to heck with the solar system!

For the record, this is one of the daffodils that bloom in the third phase of blooming. These were here when JCB bought the house. They’re very yellow and delicate, different from the phase one and two variants. Note that the first phase fleurs were in their prime three weeks back….

I can’t remember if I’m repeating myself, but back when I was in HS and riding the bus through town, one home had a Japanese magnolia (Magnolia liliiflora) in a protected spot in the yard, and I always looked at the blossoms when they came on and thought they were oh-so classy and stunning.
Rather mysterious that it has never occurred to me to plant one here….
Maybe partly it is because I have been on a plant-local kick?
