Redbud beauty

I do enjoy this view, yet mostly can’t create shots that match what I see. Nice color smear.

Close up of redbud blooms. No smear.

Also, the pine pollen is arriving. Rain coming soon will help.

No plays today, one-act or longer. No especial content of any kind. Just a branch of wee flowers.

Here’s a flower with a common name that corresponds to the scientific name—the genus. It’s alyssum. This eliminates one of the problems of common names…that they aren’t as “exact” as scientific names.
Except…
…in this case, the flower has been reclassified by the taxonomists, and it’s no longer in the Alyssum genus. It’s now Lobularia maritima. Yay science.

I’m characterizing today as an urban blur. It wasn’t really, of course; it was just a misleading perception. So, instead, I’ll focus on this crepe myrtle bark…so many layers of beige and brown and reddish-brown…like a landscape of multiple ranges of misty mountains…or a tasty, seared slab of salmon filet. [The latter was part of our Friday-night menu. Yummy.]

On my two-mile afternoon roam, I caught a bit of sprinkles, but it didn’t last, thankfully…and I forged on…the stoic (and transplanted) Midwesterner.
’Tis the rainy season, after all.
I do enjoy these blooms, very seasonal…called snowflakes. Without the cold, haha.

Now that’s an entrancing line-up.
Wikipee says many of the varied Narcissus flowers/bulbs are native to the Iberian peninsula. I had no idea; my ignorance is vast.

I walked in the sunshine today, so very lucky. Felt good. There was a bit of a breeze, enough that leafless stick-branches waved. I’ve been futzing around inside too much lately, including spending too much time reading about ancient transitional times, mostly in the Levant.

Well, now, that looks like spring. Early spring. And it is. Plus, sunset was after 6pm.
