A win

I was so glad to see this azalea, all elegant and delicate. Overwhelmingly, they are more in-your-face—beautiful, yes, but more robust. In any case, I haven’t found one of these before this spring.

Cercis canadensis

It’s redbud bloom season, and I’ve had a difficult time finding blossoms at my level.

Failure

As in: failure to communicate. Spaced on blogging. Apologies.

Something’s changed

It got dark later. And light later.

And, we’ve had cold weather, into tomorrow. Lowest morning temps in thirteen months.

So sorry about these azaleas and all the other tender plant parts. Like fruit blooms.

Iterative

Windy. All day. Big gusts and small.

Unsettled weather. Unsettled me.

Seasonable

Hard freeze and a time change. Welcome to this March weekend.

Note: seasonable may not seem reasonable.

Attempt from afar

There’s varied symbolism attached to white flowers. On this day I pick bereavement sympathy. I also read that white azaleas represent civility and restraint. That’s a stretch today, but, with great sincerity, I offer them up. 🇺🇦

Great fun

Went out for dinner. Not the way you may be thinking. Out was Athens, and we brought take-out with us to share.

This bud’s for you

I like the Fibonacci twist of the bud, but, being in a hurry, the petals below and the leaves behind are in focus, not the fetching bud. [Vinca aka periwinkle.]

Common name confusion

I saw these and thought the flowers looked rather like hyacinth blooms, and the effect was rather like bluebells. Came home and poked around on the internet, and it seems that hyacinths and bluebells are closely related, taxonomically—so: ta-dah! Of course, they seem similar. Especially, when strolling by….
