Musings

Taking the long view

We’ve a weather change coming late this week—perhaps three days of rain, so I thought I’d be sure to get out and enjoy the sunshine today…and get some perspective.

Trees and timing

Ginkgo leaf drop report: mostly attached, yet plenty have fallen.

Two weeks ago, folks were setting this seasonal business establishment up. Today, business boomed.

Woohoo

Once again you can see my lack of skill at making artsy shots. The shot I attempted had a single light in the foreground and the background out of focus. Instead, it was all to some degree out of focus. Ironic funny. And, instead, I got this random roaming shot of the context of the lights.

Time travel: 2015

I went back to 2015 in the Great Photo Archive in The Cloud (GPATC), and found this lovely CanGoose image…since I took no (interesting) photographs today.

Quality time

My new shoes arrived yesterday in the late afternoon. They’re Salomons. I didn’t care about the brand so much, but these have a stiffer sole and are good for trails, and also not the squishy sole that a running shoe needs.

Blue lady

We had The Brother of Seattle here for a day, and we took a roam this afternoon, and I have now logged three miles in my New Shoes. And, en route, we found ladybugs of many hues on a crepe myrtle. Now he’s flying back to the Left Coast.

Working angles (try again)

I’m really attracted to making a superlative image with these orange-and-yellow flowers. Another not-quite, however. Focus would certainly help hah.

Joes

I just got a text from Joe Biden. It said nothing about Joe Manchin. I guess the texting robot isn’t up on current events.

Text deleted.

Bright light big city (ish)

…Playing with the new-cam, in the new-time afternoon.

Hello, brrrr

This is why the down duvet is on the bed and the heat is on (not much, but some).

Here’s Ella’s happy forecast. We’re both looking forward to the “gorgeous” weekend.

Momentary close scrutiny

I didn’t expect to find clematis blooms this time of year; I associate them with spring. The name is from the Greek κληματίς or clēmatís, meaning climbing plant. They’re common in this area adorning mailboxes, as this one is [mailbox not shown].

I learned “voxel” today. Pixels are 2-D. Voxels are 3-D. Or that’s how I understood it. Perhaps I came across voxel before and just forgot…I can’t remember.
