Musings

Our favorite fisherman is now casting in the big pond in the sky, you might say, as of this afternoon. We are grieving, and also glad that he is now at peace. These are not easy times, but the wheel of life turns this way and that, and today’s turn took our favorite hunter-gatherer. These were two of the four keepers he caught this lucky day back in September 2021. They were fine eating. We miss him greatly.

I enjoyed algebra in an odd way because I got to look at x y and z more often…than in literature and other subjects. I still like those letters, their linearity and symmetry, and that they’re at the end of the alphabet.

The rain has begun, and it’ll be windy and nasty overnight and through the morning.

Look at these wee windows all lined up to ogle pedestrians walking by on the sidewalk. Or that’s how it looks to me.

I thought the light on the fence-top loops looked darned special, and tried to capture it…but, nope, in the digital world, it looks just flat and not side-lit curvy lovely.

I braved the overcast nippy morn in proper garmetage to be quite comfy. Side effect: hat hair, the winter static-y kind. Took me back to my Midwest days.

I walked down to the park, and sat, nay basked, in the sunshine while nearby geese busily snatched grass yum yum from the roots. The basking was magical.

If I believed in omens, I’d think this colorful dawn sky is a good one for the new year. Since I don’t, I’m going with uplifting beauty.

Two days after Thanksgiving, this lot was full of trees, and even some wreaths, most under large and extra-large tents. Two days ago, there were seven trees left. Today, I saw two, and one outside the fence leaning against the porte-potty (why?). Now, the tents are gone and just detritus remains.
Also, we visited two grocery stores, and neither had fresh cranberries.

Ivy survivor.
BTW, this wall of horizontally laid, treated-wood beams is over six feet tall, and the ivy is about two feet up from the base. How? [And it’s the only one.]
