Flowery (verbiage, conditional)

Orchid undazed

An orchid for my Valentine…. This means YOU.

Temporary torpidity

Unopened daffies

There’s something of my energy today in this…rather dark without flash. Not dark…grim, but dark…lethargic. So, darkish.

A winter thing?

’Tis spring-y

Daffodils a bloomin

Another nice day; these are the first daffies I have found a-bloom—a bit ahead of ours….

BeltLine report: another packed day.

Folly fragment

Not so ancient wall

As old as this wall fragment looks, it’s in front of a house that’s something less than two decades old—and a replacement for an older home. Speaking of that phenomenon, I know of a dozen homes within a mile of this house that are being replaced right now—a mini construction boom of McMansions…so much for designation as an historic neighborhood based on architectural consistency….

Cheering fuchsia-camellia

Camellia a budding

Our camellia commenced budding and got caught in our last cold spell (the brown edges), and now it’s beginning to bloom…and another cold spell (Atlanta version) is just ahead of us.

Cheery dandy duo

Dandy duo

Despite being a bit breezy-chilly today, it looks like winter’s bite is easing.

For now.

Look what’s peeking through the leaves

Crocus i

I think all the crocuses I used to have in my yard/garden are now gone; I must replace?

However much Boston and environs (and northerly places in general) are getting a heavy dose-o’the-white, we just have the early spring flowers here. Not terribly warm, with a steely breeze…yet, I rejoice…no frozen precip in our neighborhood.

Fibonacci? spiral?

Decorative landscaping poss succulent

I rhombulated* here and there at Piedmont Park, and came across this creeper(?) between here and there. It’s kind of a plant armadillo.

I like the sound of this not-quite-a-word (even though I just got four G00gle-hits on it!).

All oak

Oak trunk sections

I smelled these trunk sections before I saw them. I thought: hmm, fresh-cut oak. Then I saw leaves on one or two sections, and thought, geeze, those look like maybe ginkgo leaves—or maybe not. Soon, I figured it out—ivy leaves on vines on the trunks, and no ginkgo whatsoever.

Psst—photo not taken near our lot!

Hoping for sun

Daffies agrowing

Got out in the sunshine for a stroll with a friend/neighbor, just moseying. Enjoyed a few stands of very hopeful daffies anticipating the spring season. Regrets are next, as lows in the upper teens are predicted for Wed.
