Darned sneaky spider!
I have it on good authority that this daffodil coloration was fashionable the mid-twentieth century. (Came with the house, so that makes sense.)
* You’ve heard of witness (bearing) trees? Not the same at all….

I quite enjoyed spotting this lovely teeny fern snugged up against a lichen-decorated rock wall in a yard not far from here, and imagining a spider or lizard living in the cavelet it protects.

I have it from an extremely reliable source that this is a Star of Bethlehem, which certainly seems like an appropriate name. It’s a lovely bulb-flower that doesn’t linger long. Speaking of bulb-flowers, the daffodils that were flattened a week ago by the heavy, wet snow (still can’t believe we had snow!) are now up and waving in the breeze as if nothing happened.

This afternoon we had a great time with a four-year-old at the park (well, and his lovely parents whom he brought along, too!).

Yeah, I know it’s out of focus, but they’re grape hyacinths! And I just love ’em! Classy!
Wikipedia says they’re in the genus Muscari and are native to Eurasia. Greeks and Italians eat their bulbs. The name refers to the musky scent of some species.

If this hyacinth is a metaphor for my life today, here’s a fly from this afternoon: the State of Georgia owns 15,244 buildings.
Or something.

Our neighborhood has some lovely old apartment buildings, although some have been condo-ized. These Ionic columns add a delightful detail to the façade of this pair of buildings, which face each other across a lovely garden, a haven in the midst of the city.

Here’s proof that this year spring is coming later compared to the last few years. This picture is from two years ago, and these guys are still buds today….

This is one stylish snowdude! And a survivor to boot!
These daffodils are doing better than ours, which are laying flat on the ground after being overburdened with heavy, wet snow….

This was sunset yesterday, with the sky uplit from reflections off the blanket of snow on the ground. I’d forgotten how much reflection all that fresh-white can make.
Tonight, just about the only snow left is 1) in the shade (deep shade), or 2) on the grass where there was no sunshine this afternoon.
So, the sunset sky today? Oh, pretty much the same-ol’ same-ol’ and not particularly interesting….
