Musings
Carrier. Container. The side (shown here) and the top used different terms. Either way, you stack your devils if you buy one of these.
I didn’t.
Mental exercise: think back to pre-plastic days, when you had simple organic materials at hand. What did you do for containers? Most organic materials didn’t seal the way plastic does. What’s the impact of that? Submerging in salt water (think sauerkraut) or sealing in fat (a surface layer in a ceramic vessel)…that kinda sealed stuff. But a flexible plastic skin? Nothing like it. And…?
Now, eggs back in the day. Well, you could keep it at room temp, or hard boil it. I remember with great fondness boiled egg sandwiches we had the day long ago we toured Calakmul. Hit the spot!
Pardon for the wandering post; I could have…oh, never mind, I’ll save it to use in a day or two….

Food experiment #214589932. New frozen side from TJs, labeled “Creamy Polenta.”
Strangely, the polenta parts were frozen…squeeze-blips. Fortunately, when thawed according to directions—pretty tasty. And the expected gloppy texture.

Really, my life has more diversity than today’s photo collection would imply.
What you can’t tell is that it has pancake photos from this morning (texture is better with whole eggs than just whites, I learned), and, as you can see, bubbles from the pasta boiling-pot from tonight.
Still, I concluded the bubbles have more…pizzaz.
Upon consideration, the rest of the day really doesn’t merit photos. (Whew.)

I love that TJs uses local artists to do the signs and art for each store. Our TJs’s guy does a great job with the windows especially.

Oh, are they lovely!
Which evokes “flowers” more?
You’re looking at cultivated Ranunculus—the family includes buttercups.

During a wandering stroll of the neighborhood, we saw many lovely blooms—some bicolor irises and one cluster of rhododendrons come to mind as especially eye-catching. But I think the best is right next door—an heirloom wandering white rose.

Even though I arose before six to do so, I did my first 5K fundraiser jog-walk. With dogs and two miniature horses—okay, the latter just stayed at the finish line. But no bulldogs (the canine type).

The first backlit leaf photo I took was a palmetto.

Surprisingly, this color is from liquid detergent.
If you are in the mood to be accepting of non-sequiturs, the leaves are out sufficiently that the yard is now shady.
