Palermo duomo nave ceiling view

Love riding trains, although I might feel differently if it were an everyday thing for me.

So, today we took the direct line from our eastern Palermo suburb to the Centrale station, and debarked to explore the old quarters. We quartered the old quarters, you might say, but we actually didn’t get every quarter.

Again, we visited churches, although we walked by more than we entered (some were not open—a church not open, don’t get me started).

This is looking up in the nave of the Cathedral of Palermo.

Note that we have seen many castles, but have not yet entered one. Is this a location thing? Not sure. See, maybe enough of the churches are open that they are more accessible than the castles?

Anyway, at this point I may be crenellation-deficient.
