Northbound on I-75/85, you get glimpses of the dome. It’s amidst the architectural flotsam and jetsam of Atlanta’s downtown, which detracts. Yet, that gold sure makes it special.

I’ve been trying to get a handle on the sociopolitical and economic climate across the Mediterranean and beyond during the third through fifth centuries AD when the Roman Empire shifted from being Rome-centric to…not. Complicated—and additionally complicated by historians that avoided the period in many ways, I suspect in part because they didn’t have the volume of records they had for earlier and later periods.
Anyway, I also made a quick review of our pictures from Provence last year, and this view of the Avignon pope-fortress tied both topics together—of course, the Avignon papacy was MUCH later…. But the antecedents….

Watched the movie of Conan’s “The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour” this evening, and heard Eddie Vedder sing those words…well, the real* “Baba O’Riley” lyrics. Fun documentary.
I’m lousy at deciphering the right words in lyrics; I do pretty well at recognizing voices, but, lyrics, hmm, not so much. The documentary is “Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop.”

I couldn’t get excited about any menu I could think of for dinner…just couldn’t tune into that wavelength…. My Sweetie saved me! Took me out for a fine restaurant meal!
Italian. Had a sautéed calamari app (not breaded) that was really special…well, actually, it was all tasty!

Not sure how to parse that: water is liquid, right? So, this stuff doesn’t make it liquid? Turns out, no, the Product is a liquid and it is for flavoring water. Yuck.
Love my water tasting…like water.
BTW, if you’ve noticed glitchiness in this website the last few days, there’ve been server problems, the kind They have to fix…leaving the Poor Guru helpless to help.
